The Georgia Interfaith Public Policy Center is committed to bridging our civic partners and our faith-based leaders to create collaborative opportunities. The Economic Development Pledge is one such opportunity to build more stable and thriving communities through the creation of jobs, housing, and healthcare opportunities.
As a faith leader, you can attest to your communities that you are building relationships that allow you to advocate for the good of your neighbors while living out your faith. As elected officials, you can attest to your constituents that you are working across sectors to create good results that meet their needs and respond to their concerns.
Pledge your support for an economic development strategy that creates local business opportunities and attainable housing in our state. This strategy includes:
Taking swift policy action to support local economic investment in business and housing as an elected leader
Hosting a community meeting to educate the public on the economic development process as a faith leader
Elected leaders and the interfaith community partnering up to create new activations in the community
Engaging with the public for visioning and the redevelopment of public assets and faith-owned land
By “Taking The Pledge,” the Georgia Interfaith Public Policy Center agrees to partner with municipal and faith leaders to facilitate a series of engagements designed to deliver economic opportunity in the community. For municipal leaders, this includes conversations between faith leaders, financial institutions, banking regulators, small business owners, and housing advocates to create a winning proposition to attract talent and resources to their jurisdictions. For faith leaders, this includes this includes conversations for housing advocates, impact investors, green funders, and housing developers to activate faith-owned land for the benefit of seniors, families, veterans, and others.”
